1. They go for the approach where they just make the song; then go back through the song to dissect it and look for ways to change it.
2. My process for writing a paper is to brainstorm for 10-15 minutes about the topic, and then I write a few sentences. After writing I go through the paper and proofread for errors and decide where I can improve my paper.
