Claim: The people like the taste of deer. They have killed a deer and because it is not mutilated and they are skinny we know they will eat it.
Claim: the man is a hard worker: He looks tired, and he has gone out for his family to kill a dear.
Claim: The child feels distant from the parents: The boy is walking with his back turned and a stick over his shoulder from the adults.

  1. Good job making claims. Be sure to use a comma with the conjunction when the conjunction is joining two independent clauses. Also be sure to use a comma after introductory phrases.
" They have killed a deer [comma] and because it is not mutilated and they are skinny[comma] we know they will eat it."
